Key dates for 2027 coverage
Open Enrollment opens
2027 plans are available to compare and enroll.
Enroll for January 1
Choose a plan by this date and coverage begins January 1.
Last day to enroll
Enroll December 16 to January 15 and coverage begins February 1.
These dates apply to states that use HealthCare.gov, including Florida.
Already have a plan? Review it anyway
If you do nothing, you may be automatically re-enrolled. But premiums, networks and your savings can change from year to year, and so can your income and your family. A short review with Davis before December 15 can catch a doctor who left the network or a cheaper plan that covers the same care.
What to have ready
- ZIP code and the date of birth of everyone who needs coverage.
- An estimate of your household income for 2027.
- Names of the doctors and prescriptions you want to keep.
- Your current plan details, if you have one.
Missed Open Enrollment?
Outside Open Enrollment, you can enroll or change plans only with a Special Enrollment Period. These usually follow a qualifying life event, such as:
- Losing other health coverage, for example through a job change
- Moving to a new area
- Getting married
- Having or adopting a child
You usually have 60 days after the event to enroll. Davis can tell you quickly whether you qualify.
Common questions
What happens if I miss December 15?
You can still enroll until January 15. Your coverage will start on February 1 instead of January 1.
Do I need to do anything if I'm happy with my plan?
It's still worth reviewing. Prices, networks and savings change each year, even if your plan name stays the same.
Can I change plans in the middle of the year?
Only with a Special Enrollment Period, which usually follows a qualifying life event.
